On March 11th, Compass Group hosted a Compass Community Council (CCC) event in the Belk Theatre of the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in downtown Charlotte, NC. The CCC is a forum dedicated to bringing the different sectors of Compass together to share best practices, network, share resources and recognize associates.

​Last week, the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) held its fourth in a series of Micro-Market Operations Seminars across the U.S., at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.

In recent years, the growing trend toward automation (of nearly everything: communication, finances, retail, and even grocery shopping) is undeniable. This means 2014 is bound to be a big year for the vending and office coffee services industry.

Canteen had a great year in 2013, filled with new products, service milestones, and notable accomplishments by individual associates and Canteen branch locations.

This month’s branch spotlight focuses on Canteen’s St. Petersburg branch, which recently partnered with University of South Florida (USF) to bring healthy snack and beverage options to university students.

This year, fans of seasonal flavors don’t need to visit a coffee shop for their favorite seasonal specials; thanks to Keurig and Green Mountain Coffee, you can find them right in your workplace.

To wrap up National Coffee Service Month, our branch spotlight for the month focuses on our largest coffee and refreshment services branch, Coffee Distributing Corp. (CDC), with locations in Garden City Park, NY, and Union, NJ.

Last month, Canteen teamed up with USA Technologies (USAT), a leader in cashless vending technologies, and Thanks Again, LLC to integrate Canteen’s vending and micro-market locations into the customer loyalty rewards program at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport (DFW).

This week’s Branch Spotlight goes to our Mid-South Canteen corporate branch, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, which was recently honored as the Special Olympics North Carolina – Outstanding Corporation.
